Dermal fillers, such as Restylane and Juvederm, are used to soften lines or creases in the face.

Restylane is most commonly used for lip enhancement (volume and contouring). It is used to diminish wrinkles and aging lines of the face such as the nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), melomental folds (sad mouth corners), “crow’s feet” and forehead wrinkles (frown lines). It may also be used for filling aging-related facial hollows and “orbital troughs” (under and around the eyes), as well as for cheek volume and contouring of the chin, forehead and nose.

Juvederm (injectable cosmetic filler, injectable facial filler) is a soft tissue filler injected into the skin to help fill in facial wrinkles, restoring a smoother appearance. Most of these wrinkle fillers are temporary because they are eventually absorbed by the body. Some people may need more than one injection to achieve the wrinkle-smoothing effect. The effect lasts for about six months or longer. Successful results depend on health of the skin, skill of the health care provider, type of filler used.
